| AHASFV Halloween Haunt Show — October 16, 2011 |

The Halloween Haunt Show with judge Mark Stinson was a super event and a successful fundraiser for the AHASFV Youth Group. We are pleased with the number of participants who came to support the club and brought their Halloween spirit with them! Although our trail judge was eerily missing, Nedra Johnson jumped in as a replacement and the show continued.
The Walk/Trot division was popular at this show, with 11 horses in Walk/Trot Novice Rider, and in Walk/Trot Trail.
Congratulations to Warren Heath on Jack for winning the Walk/Trot High Point. He was followed very closely in points by the horses CHS Skywalker and Simon Says. Tracy Opp won four large classes with Mr. Lean and Go: Dollar Bill, Obedience, Horsemanship, and Maiden Trail.
The Western High Point went to Pennies on a Dime shown by Alexandra Resnik, with wins in Western Equitation 17 & under and in Open Trail. She was followed closely in points by Tuffy with Shelby Joice. The English High Point was won by Sophia Nuccio on Classy Covergirl. The pair earned blue ribbons in three over fences classes: Hunter Hack, Cross Rail Hunters, Cross Rails Equitation, as well as winning English Pleasure and Equitation in the 14-17 division.
Thank you to Equine & Canine News Publication for donating our high point prizes and to Hold Your Horses of Agoura for donating the costume parade prizes. Our class sponsors included Linda Stoner, in memory of Zoo, and Elois Brett-Kress/ Perfect Balance Riding Lessons. The costume parade was a hoot with twenty participants including festive witches, Rainbow Brite, the Queen of Hearts, and Zorro.
Prize bags were awarded to the cutest, scariest, and most original costumes. It's fun to get a little silly with our friends and put on a costume. There were almost as many adults in the costume parade as youth; horses keep us young!
Thank you to the volunteers that donated their day to help make the day a success. Youth members Ellery Vincent, Natalie Zavala, and Gracie Gray worked the entire day doing everything from gate, ribbons, setting jumps, and being ring masters.Linda Stoner, Teri Reichman, Conilee Kirkpatrick, Stephanie Bennett and Kylie Joseph all pitched in and shared the work as well. Jeff Reichman spent the whole day in the show office, while Benji Zavala spent his day preparing and serving the barbecue lunch. What an amazing team of people! Your dedication is much appreciated and recognized.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next fun show! |
